The Course
Eat.Think.Design. is a new interdisciplinary innovation course at UC Berkeley focused on addressing big challenges in food and food systems. For the past four months, 25 graduate students from 15 academic programs have been actively addressing this question:
How can food make us healthier & happier?
The Students
The group includes a natural chef, a NY Times health reporter, the former Partners in Health project coordinator for Navajo Nation, a city planner who did a Fulbright in Rio, the founder of a food-based social venture in Hong Kong, an Ivy League grad who worked for a year as a line cook at a New York Italian restaurant, and a former Peace Corps volunteer from Namibia.
The Projects
How can we achieve healthy food access in Tuba City and Chinle? How could we improve the efficiency of mobile produce markets across NYC? What would a food-based solution to childhood diarrhea in Uganda look like? Can we revitalize traditional Filipino food?
The Feast!
We invite you and a guest to join us in Berkeley from 4-7pm on Wednesday, May 7th for Innovation Feast. We’ve reserved a special block of tickets for VIPs.
